{"id":4261,"date":"2022-03-14T07:25:00","date_gmt":"2022-03-14T07:25:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mis-srl.miraibay.net\/?p=4261"},"modified":"2026-03-27T14:10:16","modified_gmt":"2026-03-27T14:10:16","slug":"press-release-mis-2021-results-and-developments","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mis-srl.miraibay.net\/en\/press-release-mis-2021-results-and-developments\/","title":{"rendered":"Press Release &#8211; MIS 2021 Results and Developments"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Growth and development: MIS consolidates its business in support of the circular economy of steel products and continues to develop its network of terminals and integrated logistics services by launching MIS Open Network, a new Business Unit dedicated to intermodal services for carriers, logistics operators, and other MTOs.<\/li>\n\n\n<li>In just 5 years, the number of direct employees has tripled while revenue has grown by 87%, the result of an investment plan aimed at developing vehicles and handling and transport capacity along the main international trade corridors.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Brescia, March 15, 2022\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 2021 fiscal year ended with encouraging results for MIS Srl in terms of turnover and key business indicators. At over \u20ac36 million, turnover increased 53% compared to 2020, consolidating the growth trend of the 2017-2021 five-year period with an average annual growth rate of 17%. The volume of goods handled also increased, reaching 1,083,253 tons, a 118% increase compared to the volumes handled and transported in 2020. These volumes more than doubled compared to pre-pandemic 2019 figures. The intermodal transport sector recorded a 9.5% increase compared to 2020 and a 29% increase compared to 2019, with 11,850 intermodal units transported. Evidence of MIS&#8217;s growth is also confirmed by the number of direct employees, which has increased from 33 in 2017 to 98 in 2021. This number is expected to grow further in 2022, with 135 employees already expected in the first few months.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To support the increasingly important demand for transport and logistics from the market for iron and steel and ferrous products in its greenest and most virtuous components (composed of recycled and inert materials), MIS has invested almost 29 million euros in equipment, vehicle purchases, and financial leasing. It is preparing to launch a new investment plan worth over 17 million euros between 2022 and 2024. The strategy focuses on two lines of development:<\/p>\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The integration and strengthening of the management of a network of intermodal, port, and logistics terminals<\/li>\n\n\n<li>The launch of a new organization with operational business units and a service unit coordinating staff functions. The new MIS Open Network business unit began operating in 2022. It will act as an MTO (Multimodal Transport Operator) to extend the offering of rail solutions on the main routes connecting Italy with Central and Northern Europe to carriers, logistics operators, and other MTOs with their own intermodal units and semi-trailers. An integration with the traditional business dedicated to the logistics of green products in the steel sector, effectively vertically integrating the management of trains that MIS previously purchased from other MTOs.\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;We are aware of the complex challenges of the logistics sector and the increasingly evident impacts on the cost of raw materials and energy, and for this reason we have decided to systematize the experience, expertise, and terminal infrastructure managed by MIS for its historical market,&#8221; stated Paolo Magli. &#8220;The demand for low environmental impact logistics solutions will be increasingly driven by the offer of reliable and integrated services, and for this reason we have decided to review the organization by streamlining the operational staff and staffing costs in order to focus on the development of international markets and the operational needs of all customers who want to improve their sustainability performance in their supply chain. chain.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The combined turnover of MIS and its subsidiaries finally reached \u20ac225 million, with 300 employees.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Brescia, March 15, 2022 The 2021 fiscal year ended with encouraging results for MIS Srl in terms of turnover and key business indicators.
