Who we are

Added value through intermodal logistic solutions

We were founded in the early 1980s in the province of Brescia by the Magli family.

We are a leading company in the integrated logistics of metal and steel products. To meet our customers’ needs, since 2011 we have been developing door-to-door intermodal solutions, combining road and rail transport to offer integrated and sustainable logistics services that contribute to the development of a sustainable and circular model for the steel, metal products, and industrial waste supply chain.

We operate nationally and internationally through a comprehensive network of terminals and services in Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, France, Austria, Switzerland, and Sweden. The organization employs 165 people and manages a fleet of 140 tractors, 190 semi-trailers, and over 2,500 intermodal containers specifically developed to handle finished products, semi-finished products, and industrial waste (raw and secondary materials) from the steel and green metallurgical supply chain.

Since 2022 we have also been operating as an MTO (Multimodal Transport Operator) through the MIS Open Network business unit, offering intermodal transport (block trains) and independent terminalization services to logistics operators, carriers and other intermodal operators with their own loading units, with 3 weekly connections between the Montirone terminal (in the province of Brescia) and the Rotterdam C.RO terminal.

Our Integrated Solutions

It represents the historic offering and core business of the MIS Group through Magli Intermodal Service, namely DOOR-to-DOOR transport, in-house warehousing and logistics of finished products, semi-finished products, scrap, and waste from the steel and metallurgical industries. MIS solutions support the improvement of the sustainability performance of one of the most valuable and largest industrial districts in the provinces of Brescia and Cremona. Directly or through its subsidiaries, the MIS Group contributes to the competitive development of the green steel producers’ supply chain.

Through this new Business Unit, the MIS Group also acts as a Multimodal Transport Operator (MTO), offering rail transport solutions independent of the Montirone terminal in the province of Brescia, open to transport and logistics operators using their own containers, semi-trailers, tankers, swap bodies and other types of intermodal loading units.

Intermodal and port terminals are a key element of every modern distribution and supply chain. The MIS Group directly manages handling and logistics operations and value-added services (customs), investing in the development of its terminal capacity to meet the growing demand for rail and logistics platforms.

The MIS Group also offers railway traction and shunting services to support the development of modern and reliable intermodal solutions.

It is the new business unit that manages the 24-hour technical maintenance and repair services for the MIS Group’s modern fleet of transport and handling vehicles.
