For over five years, CLdN Cargo has been active in the Italian market with high-quality intermodal transport
services to Northern Europe and with its own fleet of 5,500 semi-trailers and
containers. To expand its Italian operations, CLdN Cargo has decided to undertake a further
important development. Starting Monday, February 14, CLdN Cargo launched its own intermodal
rail connection between Rotterdam and Montirone (BS).
The service will initially operate with three connections per week between CLdN’s Rotterdam ro-ro terminal
and the terminal operated by MIS in Montirone, 13 km south of
Brescia. This intermodal connection will be able to load both CLdN Cargo semi-trailers and containers
along with other types of intermodal units managed by CLdN’s international freight
department.
The Brescia area, where the MIS terminal is located, is ideally located to serve all transport needs in northern Italy and
offers rapid motorway connections to major Italian cities. The terminal has undergone
recent development to accommodate longer trains and greater handling
capacity. “We are very proud to have CLdN Cargo as one of the first customers of the
MIS Montirone Terminal. It represents the best possible return on the investment of over €20 million
in this important infrastructure,” said an MIS spokesperson.
